Conducted a comparative evaluation of music-centric social networking and peer-to-peer tools, including Last.FM, MySpace, Soulseek, and LaunchCast. Investigated community formation and etiquette, recommendations, ratings, and other communication. Produced 42 page paper and presented findings to class.

Using ASP script and an IIS server, pulled MySQL data and displayed it in a sortable dynamic table on a Web page.

Designed and constructed a robust database in MSAccess for tracking project and task assignments for student workers in a technology department. Designed schema, prepared ER & UML diagrams, normalized tables, wrote SQL queries for common operations.

Investigated music as stored and interpreted in non-textual databases. Introductory topics included feature extraction, representation, indexing, string-matching algorithms, vector comparison on melodic contour, and operations. Demonstrated query by tapping, query by humming, and query by music excerpts sampled by cell phone.

Completed several exercises in creating models for systems analysis. Models include: activity model, cultural model, decision table, artifact model, Web site model, entity-relationship (ER) diagram, and data dictionary.
