Application supports secure authentication, role-based permissions, file upload, metadata creation, record-sorting, and auto-pagination. Created interface and index on database to support basic & advanced search features.

| Breadcrumb Navigation: An Exploration Course: Internet Applications Investigated breadcrumb navigation as a pertinent issue in Web design. Created an annotated bibliography of several scholarly, empirical articles that discuss the topic. Included examples and descriptions. Hand-coded an XHTML standards-compliant Web site to present findings, including discussion on conventions, visibility, and efficacy.

NASA-iBiblio Digitization Optimization Course: Systems Analysis Using contextual inquiry, analyzed SILS' system for processing educational videos received by NASA for archiving and disseminating through iBiblio.org. Processes analyzed include video capture, metadata creation, segmentation, encoding, export, database updates. Produced a 62 page paper & presented findings to client/class. The proposed system reduced an 8-day process (for one videotape) down to two.

AlumNet: SILS Alumni Connection Course: Advanced Internet Applications Began development of AlumNet, a Web application to connect current SILS students to alumni and vice versa. Developed in PHP & MySQL; supports secure authentication, allows users to manage their profiles and find others based on industry and interests. System will likely be completed and unveiled within a year.

Putting the Public in the Public Safety Web Site Course: User Interface Design Developed an interface for a Public Safety & Transportation Services Web site. Created three personas. Performed task analysis including GOMS model description, use cases, and scenarios. Documented design decisions based on published research and competitor analysis. Designed and presented wireframe prototype system.
